2024 Syrah, Growers Series
Our 2024 Syrah was crafted at our winery in Okanagan Falls, BC from grapes grown in the Rattlesnake Hills AVA in Washington State. This wine is part of our 2024 Grower Series which we made from purchased grapes, given the crop loss we suffered from the extreme cold temperatures in January 2024.
We make our Syrah in a Northern Rhone inspired style. Think black raspberry, dark chocolate, with a hint of savoury spice. The acid and tannin are elegantly balanced making this an enjoyable wine on its own or paired with a hearty meal such as slow roast beef chuck, lamb shank, or cassoulet.
We expect this wine to age beautifully for at least 5-7 years, but it is drinking nicely now when decanted.
The previous vintages of this wine sold out quickly and were highly rated by wine critics:
- 2019 Syrah, John Schreiner 93 points
- 2020 Syrah, Carl Boucher 92 Points
- 2021 Syrah, David Lawrason names CODE important new Canadian winery and declares the 2021 Syrah his favourite in the portfolio.
