2022 Pinot Noir, Clone Collection-Dijon 777
The Clone Collection highlights clonal differences when farming practices, winemaking processes and terroir are identical.
This wine is made from our block of Pinot Noir Dijon 777, which is planted in the middle of the vineyard as it crests down hill. Organically farmed and picked on Oct 19, yielding 2.5 ton/acre. The grapes were destemmed and whole berry fermentation started with a Burgundian yeast in open top fermentors. The wine was then aged in French Oak.
On the nose: aromas of red raspberry, ripe strawberry, blueberry, wildflower field and kirsch. On the palate: spice and velvet cherry harmony, with intense red fruit and smoked bacon. Powerful and stylish finish.
45 cases made. Key specifications: 13.2 % alcohol by volume, .85 g/L RS, 6.08 g/L TA, 4.03 ph.
