Our Syrah leans toward a Northern Rhone style, with lower alcohol and an elegant profile.

In 2022 our Syrah comes from Block 01, which is the warmest & smallest block in our vineyard. It was hand picked on Oct 29, yielding 2.5 ton/arce.  We destemmed the fruit and let the whole berries cold soak in open top fermenters before inoculating the wine with a classic Mediterranean yeast. After an extended maceration, we pressed off the wine into 2nd and 3rd fill French Billon barrels, allowing the wine to complete malolactic fermentation and age for 8 months.  It was bottled unfined and unfiltered on July 19, 2023.

This wine will benefit from another 12-24 months of bottle age.  Food pairing suggestions include Lamb Kofta (our favourite!), Merguez sausage, or medium spiced Indian food such as Tandoori Chicken.
